History - 2015

EnKor performed at a wedding at the Attard Parish church. The repertoire included many lively gospels, performed by several soloists, choir and of course EnKor's live band.
Also some traditional classical songs were inserted in the program like Schubert's Ave Maria and Franck's Panis Angelicus. Like always all repertoire is sung in four part harmony or more, often with soloist(s) who regularly interact with the choir and - if the repertoire allows - add own improvisations. The musicians of EnKor's band complete the EnKor sound by choosing the right registration and way of performing; being it classical, strictly playing the scores, or improvising and adding a lot of gist at the gospels.

Two days later EnKor performed again at a wedding at Mdina Cathedral. The Nigerian bride, who doesn't live in Malta, found EnKor on internet and listened to its repertoire. She got so excited that she decided that when she would get married, she wanted EnKor to perform at her wedding. The couple and their guests specially came to Malta to get wed.

The repertoire included many lively gospels in which also the Nigerian priest joined in, clapping and dancing, and so did the wedding guests. At the African song Siyahamba many people in the cathedral couldn't stay seated anymore, they rose and participated enthusiasticly, singing and dancing. Also in this mass were classical elements like Vivaldi's Gloria and Händel's Hallelujah. Apart from the lively and cheerful pieces there were also quiet, contemplating moments with according repertoire. Touching was Rutter's beautiful A Clare Benediction which was perofrmed at Offertory and Your Love as one of the songs performed at Holy Communion. The mass and EnKor's performing was received very well. Even tourists who overheard the choir performing waited outside the cathedral to ask after mass for cd's and gave their compliments.
